QuickBooks to NetSuite migration
For companies that have outgrown QuickBooks, make the move with balances reconciled, classes mapped to real segments and history intact. We migrate from QuickBooks Online to NetSuite with the chart of accounts redesigned, open items reconciled and a planned month-end cutover, so your team keeps working throughout.
When QuickBooks starts costing you
You’re handling manual consolidations, using classes for three different jobs and tracking inventory in spreadsheets. Month-end can take a week. QuickBooks got you this far, but you’ve outgrown it – and every workaround creates another place for things to go wrong. Intuit’s published limits show the ceiling: QuickBooks Online Plus caps you at 5 users, 250 accounts and 40 combined classes and locations, and each company needs its own subscription, so group consolidation stays manual.
How we migrate QuickBooks to NetSuite
Nothing reaches production until it has balanced in a sandbox.
- Chart of accounts redesignYour QuickBooks structure is a starting point. We rebuild the COA for how you report now.
- Classes to segmentsClasses and locations map to proper NetSuite segments, so reporting stops being a compromise.
- Open items & balancesOpen AR/AP, opening trial balance and stock positions, reconciled to QuickBooks.
- History you chooseOne to two years of transactions typically; the rest stays archived and readable.
- Multi-entity from day oneConsolidation happens in the system instead of a spreadsheet.
- Cutover planFreeze, final load, go/no-go. With QuickBooks kept read-only behind you.
Moving from QuickBooks to NetSuite?
Talk through your data, timelines and cut-over with a solution architect. It’s free, it takes 30 minutes and there’s no sales pitch.
What you gain by switching
Your data, reconciled
Your open items and the history you choose move across, with balances reconciled.
A planned switch
One planned freeze over month-end means your team shouldn’t need to enter anything twice.
Room to grow
Handle more entities, currencies and reporting needs without the limits of your old system.
Sign-off, in writing
Every control account tied to source before go-live.
Five checkpoints
No checkpoint passes without your sign-off.
Assess – we profile the current system and agree what moves, what’s archived and when.
Map – every field and value gets a documented home in NetSuite before anything is loaded.
Rehearse – the full migration runs into a sandbox first – never straight to production.
Reconcile – balances tie back to the old system, account by account, and finance signs off.
Cut over – one freeze, one final load, go-live with a rollback ready.
What to know before you start
- !Attachments and audit trail don’t transfer cleanly. Documents attached in QuickBooks need a separate extraction plan. We’ll scope this early so you know what to expect.
- !Multi-currency history is approximate. QuickBooks stores it differently, so historical revaluations come across as summaries. We’ll be clear about what those summaries include.
- !This is an upgrade, with a cost to match. If QuickBooks still fits your business, we’ll say so. Moving too early is expensive, but leaving it too late can cost even more.
