Migration & switching to NetSuite
Moving off Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP or a legacy ERP. With your history reconciled and your team still able to work.
Switching feels riskier than staying
Most companies stay on a system they’ve outgrown because the move looks dangerous. Lost history, broken balances, weeks of downtime. Done properly, those risks are manageable. The risk sits in how the ERP migration is run, and that part is controllable.
Seven ways in, one discipline
Every route below gets its own page, including Microsoft Dynamics, SAP Business One and legacy ERPs. The quirks of your current system decide the plan.
More pages in this section are publishing through October and November.
What a clean switch to NetSuite buys you
History that survives
Open items and the years you need come across and reconcile, so you can prove nothing was lost at cutover.
A cutover, measured in days
One planned freeze over a month-end. Your team keys nothing twice.
A system that fits again
Multi-entity, multi-currency, real reporting. The limits you’ve hit are lifted.
Balances finance signs off
Every control account tied back to source before anyone relies on it.
One route, five checkpoints
Assess – we profile your current system and agree what moves, what’s archived and when.
Map – every field and value gets a documented home in NetSuite before anything is loaded (more on our data migration approach).
Rehearse – the full migration runs into a sandbox first – never straight to production.
Reconcile – balances tie back to your old system, account by account, and finance signs off.
Cut over – one freeze, one final load, go-live with a rollback ready.
What to know before you switch
- !Timing matters. A month-end or year-end boundary makes reconciliation far cheaper. We plan around your calendar, and we’ll tell you if the date you want is a bad one.
- !History has a price. Open items plus one or two years is usually right. A decade of transactions can come. It just costs mapping and testing time it rarely repays.
- !Your old system stays for a while. Read-only access to the legacy system covers audits and the odd lookup. Switching it off on day one is a mistake nobody makes twice. We’ve run the reverse too: a year-long NetSuite decommissioning with archiving and audit cover, which the client says was delivered ahead of schedule.
