NetSuite for retail & eCommerce

You can sell through every channel from one stock pool – and settle every marketplace cleanly. Connect Shopify, Amazon and your stores to a single retail ERP, so that your team gets real-time stock, automated settlement matching and true margin by SKU – without spreadsheet reconciliation.

The problem

Channels multiply but your data streams through one platform

Each channel (web, marketplace, wholesale and sometimes physical stores) arrives with its own stock view, settlement file and returns process. Online sales now account for 28.3% of British retail (ONS, July 2026), and every added channel multiplies the reconciliation work. When finance closes the month from spreadsheets, margin by channel is often guesswork. A properly configured omnichannel build gives every channel one stock pool, one ledger and one version of the truth.

Retail watch-outs

  • !SuiteCommerce is a choice, not a default. Shopify-plus-integration beats SuiteCommerce for many brands. We are independent on it, so the operating model decides rather than the licence.
  • !Marketplace settlement is complex. Amazon settlement logic takes real mapping effort. Budget for it properly, or reconciliation stays a manual job.
  • !POS is an integration decision. Physical stores mean a POS choice (native or third-party) with real trade-offs – decide it early.
Common questions

NetSuite for retail & eCommerce FAQs

Is NetSuite good for e-commerce?
Yes. As a retail ERP, NetSuite is the back office behind thousands of brands: inventory, orders and finance unified, with storefronts connected by integration. The storefront itself can be SuiteCommerce or (more often) Shopify.
Shopify or SuiteCommerce?
Shopify for merchandising agility and ecosystem; SuiteCommerce for single-vendor simplicity and native data. We hold no licence stake in either, so the recommendation rests on your channel mix alone.
Can NetSuite handle marketplace settlement?
Yes, with the reconciliation flows built properly: fees, refunds and reserves mapped to accounts automatically. It is configuration work, and it is exactly the work generalists skip.
How much does NetSuite cost for a retailer?
NetSuite sits at the mid-market end of retail ERP software: licensing depends on user count and modules, with retail builds typically adding advanced inventory and connector subscriptions for Shopify or Amazon. Implementation for a multi-channel brand usually lands in the mid five figures. Our NetSuite cost and pricing guide breaks down both.
