A curated core of NetSuite terminology rather than an exhaustive list. Each definition is the one-line version a busy FD or project manager needs. Where a term has its own page on this site, the definition links to it.

Straight answers

NetSuite terms: common questions

What is the difference between NetSuite and OneWorld?
NetSuite is the ERP platform. OneWorld is its multi-entity edition, for businesses with more than one subsidiary. It adds subsidiary records, multiple currencies, local tax handling and real-time consolidation across entities.
What is a saved search in NetSuite?
A saved search is NetSuite’s main query tool: a filtered, summarised list of records that you can save, share, email on a schedule and use to drive dashboards, alerts and workflows. For joined datasets and pivot tables, SuiteAnalytics Workbook goes further.
What is the difference between SuiteFlow and SuiteScript?
SuiteFlow is NetSuite’s visual workflow tool for approvals and simple process logic, set up without code. SuiteScript is the JavaScript platform for everything SuiteFlow can’t do, such as complex logic, integrations and high-volume processing. We use workflows first and write code only where it’s needed.
What is a sandbox in NetSuite?
A sandbox is a separate copy of your NetSuite account for development and testing. It’s a paid add-on, isolated from production, and it can be refreshed from production so that tests run on current data.
